This drill likely served in an old growth sawmill in Dallas Oregon. When I found it it was in a crusher shop near Dallas. I restored most of it but fabricated everything from the main coulum back except for the 4 speed DRIVE-All gearbox. It now has a 3 hp single phase motor with magnetic contactor and reversing drum. Control is by handheld pendant station. Eight speeds from 22 to about 265 rpm. The power feed is fully functional. Quill is MT 5. I am still looking for more info on Mechanics Machine Co. Most parts of the drill are stamped with a 2 except the 'camels back'. It and its bearing caps stamped 4. Two handles are stamped 32. Many drill bits were included, most all from cleveland forge. The guards are easily removed for service. Most lube poins I converted to grease hopefully eliminating the oil showers. Ed.
