Comments:
This trimmer is located near Lake Lanier in the NW corner of the State of SC. It is on a water preserve which supplies water to the town of Landrum, SC. The saw mill is to the left of the NW to SE 'Palmetto Trail' that the State of SC is in the process of opening up to the general public. Apparently this saw trimmer and mill was abandoned in the early 1900s. The area is state protected and thus will not have any destruction or removal of existing relics such as this machine.

In case you can't see it clearly enough in the pictures, the casting is labeled, 'THE "TOWER" ONE MAN TRIMMER / THE GORDON HOLLOW BLAST GRATE CO. / GREENVILLE MICH.'

This trimmer consists of a pair of circular-saw blades mounted on a shaft. The log or lumber is placed on the carriage (much of which has rotted away) and pushed through the saws, cutting it to a fixed length.
