I could not resist the call of CL. I had sworn off buying stuff for a while, until I completed setting up my shop. I took a chance & thought for 200 samolians I could clean, polish, lube & sell it. Well that was what I thought. The motor bearings spun easily and had no noticable play. The same for the arbor bearings. Raising & lowering the blade was a little rough, but I saw nothing that WD Quatro-Zero could not handle. The old gentlemen (Jim) had it in his possesion for about 4-5 yrs. He was a boat builder/repairer on the N. shore of Long Island. He was moving to a smaller location & did not want to lug it along. The light rust on the body is due to being near the shore. Jim kept the top well oiled. He was a former shop teacher and metal sculpturer. Well he cranked up the 1.5 hp & it hummed. There was a slight clater that I later found to be the dust deflector. This puppy was a keeper. I now had to find a corner of the garage to store it in. It was complete except for the motor cover & fence. The former I can make. The fence will be the BEEZ off my contractor saw. It purrs off the 220 like a champ. All afternoon I was giddy. If only my wife knew my mind was far off, when I was saying yes dear, yes dear. I was thinking of how I would take her apart to oil, lube polish, paint & tune her back to where she belongs. Now nothing will replace my 1st love, a Dewalt GWI. But a little change is GOOD! I am now complete!
