I bought this grinder from my local used tool store for $20. Its similar to another that I own that had belonged to my grandfather but this one I believe to be a little older. The shield frames are nickel plated which is what attracted me to it. The grinder has its original black wrinkle finish although its not in very good condition. The tool rests are replacements as the originals which were mounted to the thin lip of the cast iron guards were broken off. This was probably a weak point on these grinders as my grandfather made a repair with some steel stock to one of the tool rests on his grinder. Its also missing 3 of the 4 flanges for the wheels, I hope there are universal replacements available. It seems to run OK and the bearings seem quiet. It would be interesting to find out who actually made these for Montgomery Ward.
