Bought this from an Ebay auction on 9-18-06. Acquired from the Middletown, NY Psychiatric Center, the original owner. Very nice machine, complete. 5hp 3 phase Westinghouse leather belt drive motor included. Motor bolts to the floor via a cast iron mounting plate. I have the original paperwork, and will post to the site soon.
Getting the machine out the building was an adventure, as it is extremely heavy (need to have the right equipment to move one of these machines), and was too long to fit through the garage door on the fork lift. We transferred it from the fork lift to 2 four caster dollies, and pushed it through the door lengthwise. We then had it on the forklift and tried to load it on the Uhaul 6x12 open trailer. The forklift was at the very top of its travel, and it was 3/4" too low to clear the rails of the trailer. We set the machine down, and rigged it with kevlar slings and wire ropes. A front end loader was available, and we used that to load the jointer. 400 miles later it was at its final destination. We unloaded with a Case 580 backhoe my friend had in a similar fashion to the way we loaded it with the fron end loader. A deck of 4x6 planks on a pallet jack made it very easy to move around. It is in storage for now, but I plan on sandblasting, repainting, check mechanically, and rewire. All in all, a great machine, and a smooth move.
