This drill press was originally sold by Sears under the Dunlap name, although it was actually made by Atlas Press. Based on old catalogs, I think it's from about 1941. It's made a lot like the larger Atlas drill presses, but it has sleeve bearings instead of ball bearings.
I purchased this drill press from a used machinery dealer in 2001. The before picture is shown below. It actually looks worse than it really was. After sandblasting and painting, it came out looking pretty good. One thing that amazed me about this drill press is the fact that the table was in perfect shape. Not a single hole or mark on it. It had an old furnace motor on it when I bought it. But I replaced that with a Dunlap motor I found on eBay. After restoring it, I used it for a year or so until I came across a larger Atlas drill press. I sold this drill press to make room for the bigger one.
