UPDATE: Finished restoration winter/spring 2007.
Cleaned all. Derusted top best possible, but many, many pits remain. Retained original paint as it was not flaking and it exhibited a thick/thin stucco-like texture I wanted to keep. Found a rattle-can paint very close to original dark blue.
Coated label with clear lacquer to brighten, masked with delicate-surface grade blue tape and sprayed parts with light coat of new paint. Underside of table was unpainted from new. After cleaning, I sprayed underside with cast iron and steel colors to protect surfaces, while leaving solder bright/unpainted as detail.
Guard, rough cast, was left as found other than cleaning. Reblued miter bar. Wire brushed bright knobs to burnish and clear lacquered to protect. Installed new sintered bronze bushings.
