I picked up this Yates American wood lathe with the Barnes lathe off E-bay.The lathe was in a very damp basement shop.I took it completely apart for cleaning, service and painting.I mounted it on a new piece of wood and added a set of cast iron legs with a shelf for storage of the tooling. The lathe has vari drive,it goes from 0 to 1725 rpm's.I added a new on/off switch as the one that was with the lathe didn't work very well.
