Had been perusing the classifieds for some time looking mainly for used drill press. Really was just looking to upgrade from my late model 12" Delta Benchtop. Picked up one (Craftsman 113.21371, only borderline on the vintage scale) and so entered into the world of OWWM.
During the search, kept on seeing the same address for a garage/estate sale for a few weeks in a row. Usually included random listed tools (i.e. drills, saws, etc.). For some reason didn't think much of it, just felt like it was some sort of retail closeout or sidewalk type sale.
On the week after I picked up the drill press, I decided to check it out anyway one Saturday while I was in the area. It was a residential address with a sale sign but no obvious signs of the usual garage sale trappings. Pulled up the drive and it turns out there is a large (think parking for couple hundred cars). I spy this sucker along with a few really sad looking friends of other ilks (sanders, jointer, etc.). Looked pretty complete while the others looked, shall we say, "somewhat worse".
Gave it a good once over and all looked good. After about 10 minutes the dude working the sale comes up with an extension cord so I could test it. It ran, original motor and all, but it wasn't pretty considering that the belt was frayed to pieces and there was scant little left of the rubber tires. Saw was marked $200 and being new to this game was a little gun shy jumping in with such little knowledge. Took some notes and reluctantly left.

Left one part out, the part that had me kicking myself. According to the guy there, there were *dozens* of machines there a few days earlier, all now gone. Doh!

That night, after doing some research on the OWWM site and trading a few emails with UnisawA100, decided to go for it. Problem was, the sale was listed as only running thru Saturday. But some things are just meant to be. While out on some errands Sunday, decided just to drive by the place. Yup, they had decided to keep the sale going on Sunday and this baby was waiting right where I left it. Took it home for $180.

As far as restoration goes, I'm planning on a full restoration but other project priorities have put it on the back burner. I've gotten everything disassembled, cataloged, and somewhat cleaned. All the major parts are present and accounted for. Still acquiring the required bits (bearings, belt, tension spring, etc) so I'll be ready to preceed as time allows.
