As you may note by reviewing my profile, I'm a small-arn degenerate. Although I already have a nifty 12" BS
I just couldn't pass-up the mini-snowflake. $40 and one of the nicest/longest conversations that I've had with an arn seller, he even threw in the mud-dauber nests!
Sadly, this saw has seen better days. The cast-aluminum guards have been cracked in several places. The previous owner repaired some of them by screwing and epoxying plates to them. The table has had the trunnion broken off and braized back on. There is still a crack through the top of the table as well. The guides are salvageable and most everything else is in fine shape. The bronze bearings aren't too bad, but I don't think it should be a big deal to replace them. One slightly odd detail about this saw: the wheel bearings are bronze sleeves, but the tensioner and upper guide rides on Babbitt.
The table size of this guy is about 9+" x 11+". The '31 Boice-Crane catalog lists the size as 9 1/4" x 11 1/4", while the '33 edition changes to 10" x 12".
BTW- If you look at the 10 o'clock position on the "nekked" picture, there's some sort of pin sticking out of the casting. There's a close-up of this detail in the third pic. Anyone know what this is for? It wasn't connected to anything when I got it.
