I finally got the elusive Beaver 3900 Belt / Disc sander that I have been wanting for a few years now . I found it on a marketplace add in Hudson Quebec .The seller bought it from her neighbour Mr.Murray 7 years ago who was 77 years old , It sat in Mr. Murray’s house for many years unused as he did not use it , it was bought new by his father who made the cabinet with the Beaver cast iron legs .The seller also bought the 3800 jointer with extension rollers and 3300 band saw which both had cabinets with the Beaver cast iron legs . I also got the 3400 lathe from the seller that she had bought elsewhere. All 3 machines are in pristine condition as they were well taken care of by both owners and also sat unused for many years by the younger Mr. Murray . The seller was kind and held on to the tools for 5 weeks until I had time to make the 2 hour /203 km trip to Hudson Que from Perth Ontario . When I had arrived for pickup Sophie the much younger than me seller helped dismantle the tools and carry them up from her basement and load them in My truck . It was a great feeling to see the 3900 in person and know it was now mine to use at home . Sophie was great to deal with and her selling price was very good, she also told my wife that if we went east from her house we could see co many big beautiful homes in Hudson and it was nice to visit the area . The final part of our trip home we stopped and ate lunch at Mon Village in Hudson that we usually stop at when coming home from Montreal or Quebec City areas as the food is so good . I will post a final picture when it is set up in my garage but won’t look much different other than the background as it is in outstanding condition when purchased .
