Bought from a gentleman in Topeka, KS from a FB Marketplace Ad. He got it Texas from a Dentist who retired and moved to Texas from California. As Davis & Wells was an LA based firm, that fits. I paid $100 for it and restored it. It sits on a 1920s JD Wallace Bandsaw base that I had sitting around the shop. It is quite the smooth running machine and works well. While simple, the fence does everything more complicated fences can do. In fact, that pretty much defines the machine - simple. Serial number is 693 - no idea what that means for year of production, but I’d think that whatever it is, it must be early in Davis & Wells’ manufacturing life.

Had a cool old AB switch for it. Had to order different heaters.

I made a “floating” motor mount with a spring loaded tensioner to take some of the slack out of the belt when running.
