July 2006. Peter Stoltz's table model radial drill press but mounted on a stand with casters. First time I have actually seen one of these unusual drill presses. Needs a bit of work to get it back pristine but all there and a nice machine. I had heard that Peter had some Rockwell machines so I went to visit him and took pictures and wrote comments above in 2006 to post here on OWWM.

In 2007 Peter passed away and his widow remembering that I had shown interest in the machines contacted me as to whether I would like to buy them as she needed to get rid of them. I decided to buy some of them and amongst them was this radial drill press. I refurbished it completely and put it on a sheet metal stand. Sadly Peter never looked after the machines as you can see the change in this one was dramatic. To get the rust off the bars I spun them in a lathe using steel wool as a scourer.
I was contacted via OWWM by a fellow OWWMer who lives in Clarens. He had no use for the caster set and he sent it to me. It fitted the sheet metal stand and you can see part of it with the pedal in front.
The Drill Press as you can see has a wooden table attached. The original table was not in the best condition so I copied the size and made a new one out of 19 mm thick 6 ply shutterboard. The size in metric is 50 cms x 50 cms which converts to roughly 19 1/2 inches x 19 1/2 inches. I countersunk the bolt heads that fix the table to the DP table so they do not stand proud and used wing nuts to affix it.
