I purchased this machine in Victoria BC, Canada. the seller was selling it for a friend and knew nothing about its history. It had obviously been used but was missing some change gears and a chuck. Between the gears that came with it and some that I had on hand, I managed to make a combination that would allow the use of the lead screws. Research indicates that it originally came on a treadle powered stand. This one didn't have one, so I improvised with a Singer sewing machine treadle stand. It works, but I wouldn't want to make a living using it :).
