An acquisition of virtue. This is an astonishing Bandsaw design by J. A. Fay & Co. and one of the oldest and most fascinating Bandsaw machinery ever made. Which I acquired from Cary C. Smith. A talented Craftsman and an accomplished Builder with impressive structural Building Projects to his account, living in the Forrest-site in Pioneer, California. The J. A. Fay 38" Bandsaw is one of the few types of cast iron woodworking machinery that were used by Mr. Henry Ford, in his Carpentry and Construction division to help building the various automobile designs in the assembly plant. Although there has been a dramatic change in the automobile industry production lines over the past 120 years, and those cars can only be found as outdated, stored and parked for their historical values in museums; the woodworking machines once used from that era, are still running and mass-producing milling and woodworking projects non-stop. A good example of this would be the 38" Bandsaw made by J. A. Fay & Co. back in 1865. 160 years ago. This fascinating woodworking machinery is unbelievably running like new! The two pictures in "Photo 2" Description below, are from a video Cary sent to Yanno, so to demonstrate the excellent condition of this meticulous J. A. Fay 160-year-old efficient and effectual running Bandsaw! Yanno, a lifetime old-machinery-passionate since childhood, takes a five-hour long trip from Bakersfield, to Pioneer, through a 3000 elevation Forrest-site in California, with a pick-up truck and a trailer, to meet the 160-year-old Priceless J. A. Fay Bandsaw owned by Cary C. Smith. Cary's younger brother, Scott Smith, a carpenter and a builder by trade, assisted on the straps-tying, Base bolt fastening, and the loading of their J. A. Fay Bandsaw, onto the trailer for its long-returned trip back to Bakersfield. The loading of the J. A. Fay Bandsaw onto the trailer lasted until late on Saturday, midnight, of October 11, 2025. The magnificent 160-year-old J. A. Fay Bandsaw departed from the Cary C. Smith Forrest-living property on Sunday, October 12, 2025, about noon time. Riding on strap-ties "bare" and in "pride" for its Historic Valued Structure, on the trailer through the California Highways System, surprising the onlooking motorists, the Great J. A. Fay Historic Bandsaw arrived in Bakersfield on Sunday just before midnight, of October 12, 2025. The unloading of the J. A. Fay Historic Bandsaw to Yanno woodshop occurred on Monday, October 13, 2025. The two remarkable ladies, Olivia and Rene, participated in the J. A. Fay Historic Bandsaw loading and transporting celebration.
