Comments:
I first saw this machine in 2015 while purchasing another machine and some bits of line shafting. The owner did not want to sell it as they intended on using the legs for a garden table at some point.
Fast forward to 2023 when I was given several more important documents from Jonsereds Fabriker and including an 1874 and an 1882 catalogue I found it, I wasn't sure but I immediately contacted the seller asking for photos and it it was still whole, it was. After negotiations over two years we agreed upon a price and summer of 2025 it moved home to my collection of 1860s to 1890s Jonsereds machinery.
It sports a flat-sided 9/8 Swedish inch (27.8mm) spindle, a super rare and odd size and a friend made some custom tooling for modern cutters including also a replica of the missing original Collets.

The beautiful casting, very much another connection to R. Ball & Co.
