I picked this bandsaw up on Ebay in Philadelphia for $66.00. I broke it down as soon as I got home. It's missing the blade guard but other than some light rust the machine is in pretty nice shape. Bearings, tires etc, are in surprisingly good condition. Kudos to Joe Potter for dating the saw for me.
I made the guard out of 1/2" Baltic birch ply. I'm using a 1hp Chinese motor from my old Reliant BS. It'll do for now. All done with new tires, bearings a switch and a light. The over sized base is sturdy and pretty much tip proof and the 1" 1/4 thick plywood top helps to dampen vibration. I'm a happy camper with this saw.
