Purchased this lathe from another wood worker a couple years ago and have been using it as is. There are no tags other than the Delta tag and it does not contain the serial number. The tool rest is not original and I need to replace it. Otherwise it runs great. The step pulley is an add-on that the previous owner added. I would like to put a variable speed DC motor on at some point.

Update as of 2/5/08....After seeing the fantastic resto's on this site I decided to give this lathe the full treatment. It was disassembled, sand blasted and repainted. The tables were planed and refinished with shellac. The headstock bearings were replaced with a fresh set, new tailstock live center and a new motor. I wanted variable speed and more horse power so I added a 1.5Hp, 3 phase Baldor. My brother, who's an electrical Engineer, designed a VFD that I added without the need to drill any holes in the castings or support boards. I also added several accessories along the way that I aquired from on-line auctions.

Overall I'm very pleased with the finished product. Still need to polish some knobs but it's ready to go back to work.
