I came across this Clausing 8520 completely by accident while visiting a museum. They were selling the machine because it was donated to them and they didn’t have a use for it. I paid a good price while also contributing money to the museum, a win/win for everyone. The machine didn’t come with a vice or a brake handle so I had to make a new brake handle and buy a vice, I found a Clausing brand vice that I’ll be restoring to pair with this machine at a later time. I have added a custom cover to keep chips out of the T-slots. I’ll be making many more improvements as I use this mill.
