I got this saw for $10 with a 1/4hp motor and a rectangular craftsman stand from the 50's on FB MP. It is not in great shape, and I have another that is in better shape, so I plan to turn this one into a belt sander and use the other as a band saw using 1/2"x62" sanding belts. Before this I plan to do a "full" restoration with cleaning, paint, etc. Not yet sure how I will create and attach a backer behind the sanding belt but will address that when I get there. This saw also came with a metal bar screwed into the guard and an oversized pulley to slow it down which may be advantageous for sanding.
