Comments:
I bought this machine in 1982 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. As purchased, it was fitted with a flat belt pulley on the cutter head, and came with a length of 4" wide flat belt to suit. In the cutter head two of the four blades were missing, along with their throat plates and key plugs. The cutter guard was missing, and so were the fence angle adjusting knob and worm gear.

I found that the babbit bearings looked in good condition and, after fitting suitable shims, the cutter head spun nicely without excessive play. I had the two remaining blades sharpened and I refitted them. I removed the old flat belt pulley and fitted a vee belt pulley and rigged up a single-phase 2 hp 240 volt motor. As I write this in 2025 I have just spent the day planing well seasoned tallowwood (Eucalyptus microcorys) and white beech (Gmelina leichhardtii). The machine has worked well for my amateur use these last forty plus years, still running with two knives -- with sharp knives and slow feed.

If anybody has two surplus throat plates and six key plugs for a 12" Crescent cutter head I would be interested in acquiring them (but remember that we would need to arrange to get them to me here in Australia).
