Acquired this saw from a lumber yard in Pittsburgh Pa, at an auction in 2010. It was located on a second floor of a building and had to remove the top of the saw to get it through the exterior door so the fork lift could lower it to the ground. Put in in the garage to recondition it and there it sat for 14 years. Finally after 14 years i decided to redo it. We had a good week of weather in October of 2024 and i finished it that week. Have no before pictures but here are the after pictures. The saw was disconnected at the auction and i didn't even know if it ran. Connected it to power and runs fine. It has oil bath bearings in the motor and top axle and they all leaked. Have no tools or experience replacing bearings. The motor was full of saw dust so I decided to take it to a motor shop to have it checked out. The shop said the bearings and races were like new and recommended just to convert to grease fittings instead of oil bath. Disassembled the entire motor and axle, cleaned all the bearings and windings and reinsulated the leads in the motor, packed all the bearings with grease and coated the windings with a green spray and repainted the entire motor.. Installed the motor on the saw with the lower wheel and runs so quiet you can hardly hear it. When the motor is at full speed at around 575 RPM and you turn the motor off it takes 8 minutes for it to come to a complete stop. Two things I don't like about the saw. The adjustments to level the small table are a pain to adjust. I know once it's adjusted you don't have to ever adjust it again. The second thing is they give very little room to adjust the bottom guides, what a pain. The saw is all original and the only part that is missing is the tapered pin to put in the table slot. Cost for the saw $200.00, motor shop coat $325.00, new tires $115.00, glue for the tires $50.00 , paint $60.00. Total cost $750.00 .
