listed as a 32" but i measure the wheels outside of Tyre to outside of Tyre as 33".
acquired in Sydney through private sale unknown history, well used.
Some time in the past it was converted to pillow blocks on the lower shaft and the upper has roller bearings fitted through the use of through bolted collars.
I suspect the machine may have been dropped as the bottom wheel looks like it was welded around the hub area and shrink fitted (weld fitted) collars have been added (odd assembly of grub screws had been added i suspect in an attempt to true the wheel due to a butchered shaft.
just finished the resto (Nov 2024) to working condition with a new lower shaft and bearings top and bottom, steel base incorporating removable wheels and a motor mount.
unfortunately the Wright top guide was cracked, replaced with a new carter guide also replaced the lower v blocks with a smaller vintage (near new condition) lower guide made in the uk, looks just like a small wright.
Saws first task will be re-sawing timber for our 1947 40ft Huon pine sailing yacht under restoration.
New three phase motor with a vfd fitted to allow blade speed adjustment. (not tuned had to go back to work for a month.
interestingly by coincidence a young boat builder at the same yard as the boat just bought an identical saw, much nicer original condition except its painted pale blue.
