This was my grandfather's machine. I recently acquired it from my brother who had been storing it in a barn and claimed 'it worked' (it didn't...) and I performed a restoration on it over the past few months. I'm told my grandfather built the stand it resides upon, as he was both a carpenter and metal worker. The restoration of the main unit went well, but when I fired up the machine it blew both the motor and outlet. I stripped apart the motor, did a lot of research, and after a meeting with a local motor rebuilder learned that I could not replace this with a new one as newer motors aren't rated for the high rpms (13, 000!). I found a restoration place in California that could handle completely rewiring it, and I just received it back 11/18/2024. My next step is to replace the electric cord, and fire it up next week.
