I purchased this jointer years ago at a swap meet, and finally got around to restoring it. It had been painted flat black with a brush, it's original fence adjustment handle was missing, and an old dented brass door knob had been crudely welded to the adjustment socket. The dust chute had several holes punched through the sides, and one side was badly dented, apparently someone smacked it with a hammer every time it clogged. Most of the chrome was either flaking or rusting through in spots. I completely disassembled and stripped the jointer and stand, and primed, filled and painted everything. I cleaned up the rusty beds and fence, and smoothed out and polished the blade guard. I had to machine new handles for the bed adjustment handwheels, as they were missing. I stripped all of the chrome parts, repolished them, and nickel plated them. I fabricated a new dust chute, a little longer and taller than the original. After reassembly, new blades and a newer bigger motor, it works wonderfully.
