Comments:
Most likely the first-ever Bandsaw from Sweden, made just a year after the world introduction of the functioning bandsaw blades at the Paris World Fair, Exposition Universelle (1867).
This machine was sold to Göteborgs Mekaniska Verkstad in 1872, resold to Lysekil Mekaniska Verkstad in 1901 and later bought out by one of the founders of that shop to start his own business in 1931, the same shop I got it from.
It had been outdoors for 90 years by the time I got it and had lost most of its original paint, including the "restoration" paint from the 1950's.
I have completely restored this machine with the exhibition colours it would have had by the time it was new.
Note: This is NOT a ship saw.
