Comments:
This is a horizontal miller similar to the one I have. This one is a very nice example and with my vertical head it will make a very stout miller. These Nichols mills are XLNT for a home shop as they do not take up too much space. I plan to leave one setup in horizontal and this one in Vertical. This has a table screw on it as well as the rack and rack/pinion arm. The table screw uses handwheels. The head slides on dovetails, so I think it would be good for broaching, but have other methods. This mill is missing the motor, but I just so happen to have an extra master gear head motor from a Nichols I parted out. The wide table with 3 slots is highly desirable on these mills. NOTE: this mill has the t-slot ring for the spindle, it is needed for the vertical head. The early models didn't have the t-slot and couldn't adapt the vertical head. On my other mill, I upgraded the spindle ring, but this one will get the vertical head permanently.
