I found this belt sander on the side of the road as trash. I found the exact sander in a 1939 Sears catalog, so I know it's of that era. I picked it up and rebuilt/upgraded both the sander and the table. I replaced the oiling plugs with Gits oil covers, fabricated a belt fence, and added a couple thrust needle bearings to the pulley/disk shaft. I found an appropriate replica "Craftsman" badge label. I rewired the sander and motor, and included a foot switch in the wiring. I added locking swivel casters to the table, a a truck light grommet for the v-belt from the motor to the sander through the tabletop. The pegboard I found in a dumpster. I wanted old tools for adjustments to the sander, and found them at the Habitat for Humanity Restore (I still want to refinish them also). It's taken me a year to finish...working on it here and there.
