Estate sale find 7/20/2024. Found under a pile of lumber in the owner’s workshop with woodworking lathe, saws galore and sanders stacked deep. Owner had replaced the Cutler-Hammer switchplate, broken the Quill-stop and tried to fix it with worm-gear clamps. Depth pointer is missing, and maybe that is because I don’t see numbers on the Quill column. The work light missing. Floor model is stable. Motor is a Packard Electric division of GMC. It runs smooth and quietly. I wanted a DP, and didn’t want Chineseum.
This was tagged at $250, which was what a new Chineseum unit would cost.
The Packard Electric motor and the Pulley Cover being in nice condition sold me on it. I am looking forward to restoring it and using it as it was meant to be used. Now to locate the parts and an operating manual.
