This is the first of these owned by an OWWM member (me!). An extremely heavy machine (1100 lbs according to the cut sheet) with ridiculously thick castings. The foundry work is pretty rough, but the 1-3/8 diameter of the cutterhead shaft ends as they pass through the bearings is pretty impressive. 83” long tables, a fence the angle of which can be adjusted by a screw, and scales for fence tilt and infeed table depth of cut. No provisions whatsoever for collecting the chips generated by the knives. Table lips bolted to the cast tables.
This machine came to me with a substantial (older-than-the-jointer) General Electric motor that had been serviced and rebuilt by a Portland firm unknown to me: Schnitzer and Wolf Machinery Co.
