Comments:
I was able to secure this from Mike Burien for a song (and of course some cash). I think he could have shipped liquid nitro in the box and it would have been safe.

This small lathe is pictured (p 12)in the 1935 Wood Wizard - Herbert's Machinery catalog. Base is cast iron, head and tail stock housings are aluminum, with all shafting steel. The head stock rotates for a bowl turning function. Probably wont turn any bowls on this over 30 in diameter.

Time now for a stand and motor.

Here are the paints I used. They are very, very close - a little thinning of the latex makes good touch up paint. The latex is sprayable too

Ace Rust Stop Enamel 1197078/100061 Burgundy Satin Indoor/outdoor [This is what I used}

Rustoleum American Accents -The Tapestry Color Collection
#7945 Satin Finish Claret Wine (color) Latex -water clean up [Used this for touch up -sometimes I spray the Ace in a dixie cup and use a brush for touch up too]
