Purchased in east Pittsburgh from a woodworking machine enthusiast. He'd noticed a neighbor's trash contained old machine parts and inquired eventually purchasing this lathe. From the Driver catalogs the switch dates it to 1936 or 1937. This was an entry level 8" bed/10" gap swing lathe with a 30 1/2" capacity. Picked up a 100MM Axminster Evolution chuck and some older Morse Type 1 centers for the tailstock. Running as direct drive with the motor mounted below the machine with a link v belt on a hinged bed.
