The machine is owned by a friend who acquired it from his father, who provided the following history:
"Bought it around 1995 from [name redacted] who was the planer man at Lazy S Lumber in Beaver Creek, Oregon for $300. I was supplying him with all his knives, honing stones & grinding wheels while working for Burton Saw & Supply. It also had a knife honing fixture that you should have with the planer. Don't know if that was original or if the planer man customized one"
