Comments:
This is my second Portable GP saw. And it is in almost every way different than the other (1945) version. This one has convex roller bearings mounted to the yoke, it has the 1.5hp motor, and the one piece cast base/column mount which features a closer-to-square frame to which the table is bolted. Another difference which we understand largely thanks to the 1943 catalog archived here is that this model features steel table rails while my other GP Portable dispenses with these as the cast base basically renders any fine leveling adjustment superfluous. The rails were not included. It also feels markedly less heavy than the 1945 version I own.
I found this saw on Craigslist close to home.
