Comments:
Type BSR is seen in 1928, 1930, and 1935 catalogs, but is very similar to Type BSS seen in 1917 catalog. 800-2000 RPM, repulsion type, 6 brushes. This motor was left for repair (years ago) at a local shop, it was worked over, but the owner never returned to pick it up. So it was sold cheap to the fellow that owned it before me. It runs well. The bulge on top, similar to a capacitor-start motor, contains a compensation coil to improve the power factor. Date code "EF" indicates 1928 manufacture. This motor, with no accessories, cost $59 in 1928. Type BSR was available in models up to 3 HP.
