I was given this planer from a friend who wanted his garage back. The PO was given the planer after it went through a barn fire. The patent date is June of 1910, not sure of the manufacture date. Everything still turns, Babbitt bearings survived the fire. The knives were not in the planer during the fire, rescued from the ashes after the fire was out. The chip cover was broken at some point in time, will practice my cast iron welding skills. Several Jewel planers are listed, but none are 16" width. The chip cover also has a double image of the wording, not sure how that happened.
