I purchased this unit at auction, no name found. The patent date (8/17/1858) is on the decal on the front of the base, along with a second date of July 7, 1868. I cannot find any other markings on the trimmer. The blades are still sharp, though very dirty.
Update: I cleaned the blades and found the maker's name, D. Lovejoy Lowell, Mass.
