Machine was acquired vie trade. I was looking to buy a 20" saw for re-sawing. I called the local trading station and ask if anyone had a fixer upper 18 to 20" band saw for sale.
30 seconds after making the call, the phone rang and a man named Ken from Illinois had just what I was looking for. What was really great he lived about 20 minutes from my home. Ken and I struck a deal for a homecraft 8" table saw and a Craftsman 12" band saw.
Barter what a great idea that is! The saw had to be placed onto my Chev S10 vie a John Deer tractor, I brought my Bud Vito along to help rig it off the truck. It's weight is about 600 to 800 lbs guessing? The saw has a Wagner Electric Made in St. Louis 3 phase direct drive motor, but another owner mounted a single phase B-Line 1/2 hp motor to the saw. He placed a pulley on the drive wheel and belted it. The saw does have a top and its in good shape.
