Comments:
These little strip sanders are fairly lightweight when compared to the other varieties and designs of the super common 1x42 sander/grinders out there. The wheels are stamped steel, and the frame is welded 11 ga steel. The successor model (by Divindacon) improved on several of the flimsier aspects of this model, notably the fork and idler pulley design. Having said all of that, however, this sander works great. Tracks, grinds, and is very portable. Because this is only the second of these to be posted here I will note some missing or modified parts on mine:
The table should have a triangle cut out to the right of the belt slot. There also should be a semicircular guard above the idler pulley. The original idler pulley was stamped steel with the bearing spot welded into place. Both bearing and pulley were ruined so I substituted a slightly oversized pulley from a Rockwell 1x42 strip sander instead. There should be a platen and the carry handle is missing.
In the last photo I show the hub of the drive pulley and arbor. This detail differs from all the other Arco sanders I’ve seen. I am not sure how to explain that. Perhaps this sander is a very early or very late model?
