This saw showed up in the Seattle area in 2020. It is easily one of the most intricate, ornate, elegant bandsaws to show up here. Unfortunately it was not purchased by the member who alerted us to this saw so we know very little about it, and nothing about its current whereabouts. Anyone with information about it is welcome to contact me through this website.
The most unusual feature is the mounting of the lower (driven) shaft to the base/stand. This makes blade changes and presumably alignment needlessly difficult but whoever made this was clearly highly skilled and obsessively detail oriented. One possible reason for this unusual architecture might be that he started out with the (cast iron) legs and built the (cast aluminum) saw around those. The jointer which appears in some of the pictures has similar legs.
