Comments:
This is the fourth of these drill presses to have surfaced here in the Salem area since 2017. All of these differ in subtle and not so subtle respects.
This one features a Morse taper, a complete (aluminum) triple step pulley setup, a lever for adjusting the belt tension, electrical wires routed through the head casting, lots of tapped Allen set screws where my other press features cast iron collars, also knobs of brass (turned) and aluminum (cast).
Two parts on this one are made of welded plate rather than being cast iron or machined: motor plate & the lower clip on the table elevation mechanism. The two shafts supporting the motor are 1” diameter rather than 1-3/8” on my other press.
