Comments:
Bought this machine locally from a friend's Dad, who had purchased it in San Antonio 20+ years ago. He had used it for occasional hobby work but its heritage before then is unknown. Unfortunately, the machine sat outside on an open trailer for years so I hope the impact from rust is minimal. This jointer is a beast. I found a few specs (of older generation models) that listed it as over 500 lbs without the stand. It felt every bit that heavy when we (very briefly) tried to move it off the stand. Thank goodness we were able to get a hoist to finish the job.

The 1.5 HP Master motor actually runs and I've seen that brand and type on a few ASMM/Monarch machines so I do wonder if it's original. Like other machines on the site, this machine's rabbiting extension broke off but the mounting end did survive, which I'll use to mount a future blade guard. I originally didn't know if the stand was factory made but after a closer look, I found the remains of the Monarch decal.

I don't have solid evidence of the year of manufacture but based on the collective literature and a pattern on other ASMM/Monarch tags, I believe the serial number starts with the year, then a space, followed by its sequential build number.
