No progress on saw, but more info.

With generous help from John Orvis, identified saw as manufactured by Herberts Machinery. The equivalent in their Wood Wizard line can be seen at:

Recent eBay project acquisition. Pictures are as it was found. Unfortunately previous owner media-blasted it. Traces of Sears blue remain so I can sort out colors of all the pieces. Pretty much all bits were blue. A tantilizing corner of a gold label remains on the upper cover. D__n. Needs disassembly and a good cleaning. Media grit in all.

Tires original. Bottom pliable, top hard. Both checked on edges. Top wheel on backwards. The good: other than the guide thrust wheel, its complete. The really ugly: the table trunnion is cracked through on one end. Thick piece, but potmetal. Oh well, always appreciate a challenge.

9" x 3/4" alloy wheels; iron frame; bronze bearings, 9" x 9" iron table; 24" high. Top guides only, didn't have lower ones. And its cute. Pictured on page 16 of 1934 Sears tool catalog. Identified in copy there as Craftsman though illustration and actual machine marked Companion.

It will sit naked as is in a dry place while I finish up other projects. Plan on returning to original finish and make useable, though will primarily be another shop decoration.

Will update photos when complete.
