I came across this on FB and also OWWM. The seller was giving it away as he had no use for it and needed floor space. He told me it was previously his grandfathers which was an avid woodworker and liked all his machines blue. I wasn't really in the market for one, but having a Delta addiction I felt the need. Before picking it up I did a bit of research and found this model was produced in the early 60's. I later discovered, based on the serial number it's a '62. In a few General Line catalogs it showed it being matched up with a RAS. Since mine had no dust collection I found a reason for the need. It ran fine, but badly in need of bearings and new bags. It was hard to do just those repairs and leave it blue, so as usual I got carried away and went through it all returning it to it's former glory.
After completion I connected it to my RAS (blade cover exhaust port) as advertised and regretfully it underperformed leaving dust at the back of the saw as well as the floor. I removed the cloth bag, tested it with just the paper which pretty much gave me the same results. It does however perform well as a lightweight vacuum. Whether I hang on to it or sell remains to be seen.
