I drove to Colorado Springs Co. to pick up this drill press, it was left on the driveway for me.I put $20 under a rock to pay for it. The drill press was missing the belt cover, and in very sad shape.Every moving part on it was worn out. Both drive pulley's small groove was worn from running with a loose belt and the driven pulley's spline was also worn out. The quill feed shaft bushing was worn out, and the drill chuck was bell mouthed from slipping drill bits. This little drill press had seen a lot of hard use. I machined a new drive spline and repaired the pulley grooves, and machined a new feed shaft bushing. Lubrication passages were machined in the feed shaft with a grease zerk installed for future lubrication. The chuck was replaced with a Jacobs 6A-33. I made a new belt cover out of fiberglass, and a new 3 spoke quill feed handle. To correct the belt tensioning issue, I made a new arrangement that is similar to the system used on some Delta Rockwell drill presses. All bearings were replaced, and the drill press repainted.
