I found this machine in terrible condition in Southern NJ. After taking it home I realized all of the gears were missing or destroyed. Both trunnions were cracked, and there was damage to the wheels, doors, and base. Clearly it had been dropped, a few times perhaps.

Over 9 months I sourced new doors, new wheels, a new shaft, new gears, etc. I scavenged parts from no less than 5 other destroyed machines to rebuild this. I made many of the knurled parts and various guides, including the table tilt lock knob, the blade guide lock knobs, the acme screw shaft for the table tilt mechanism, the pull pin for the gearbox, etc, etc, etc. I had the table Blanchard ground .013” and then I shimmed the bottom to bring it back to alignment. I found and completely rebuilt, including turning a new knurled top lock, the indexing mitre gauge. Because the table was ground down, the slide bar has to be milled down on my killing machine by about .007”.

All parts were stripped (multiple times), primed, and three coats of industrial paint. I installed a modern LED light because, well, I’m getting old and my eyes aren’t as good as the old retirement light seems to think they are.

I’m still working on:
- painting the stripes
- the blade guard
- repairing the rear blade guard
- I have the original fence - I will restore that soon
- I will engine turn the fence guides
- I make my own badges that are exact replicas, and this one was ruined a bit in the stripping process despite my best effort - I’ll probably replace that with the serial number too.
