Yippee!!!, I am so excited about finally posting something on this site. About two months ago I was telling my father-in-law that I was wanting an old vintage Delta TS for my first TS. He said, "I think I have an old one in in my dads barn. I have not seen/touched it in 25 years so I'm not even sure if it's still there." I drove out there the next day and it was still there. I drove her home. It turned out to be rather complete. Original 1HP dual shaft motor(AO Smith), miter gauge, blade insert, and dado insert.
I took every single part, bold, nut, and screw apart. Cleaned them, stripped them, primed them, and painted them. I only had to replace one part, that was the power cord to the original motor($5 at ACE). I used Rustoleum Professional primer & paint(Dark Michinery Grey). I don't have a compressor, so I used rattle cans for the entire job. The toughest part was removing all that rust from the table-top. The rest was a pure joy. She runs like the day she was new(I think). It passed the nickel test with ease. Runs smooth & QUIET! I'm am still restoring the Jointer, will post pics of it at a later date.
I just can't say how much fun I had restoring this. It was my first restoration, but not my last. A special thanks to Bob Vaughan for helping me w/ a motor issue I had.
