Bought this Powermatic 20" model 81 bandsaw in Paso Robles, Calif on 9/20/2022. Pd $1k. Seller loaded it in my truck with FL. Came with 5 well used bands. Have already tossed 3 of them. Best guess built in 1976. Was used in a post and beam business for last 20+ years. Has single phase 2 hp Baldor motor, looked new, PO said at least over 20 years old. I sanded and repainted outside, replaced one bearing on upper band guide and changed drive belt to take from 2,000 sfm to 4500 sfm. Anything that was adjustable was way out of adjustment!! Seems to run fine, wheels smooth and quiet. Came with a very nicely made custom dolly. I also replaced power switch and added some additional table space with wood on left side and back. Rigged up a Kreg fence, taken from one of my other bandsaws. Rubber tires look pretty bad (original I'm sure), might have a few years left in them, tracks nicely though. One nice surprise is that it has an electric brake in motor. Foot brake is broken though. Had no knobs for upper and lower wheel covers so I added some with magnets on inside to keep the doors closed. Also added sound deadening material on large sheet steel panels.
