Comments:
Purchased from widow in Orleans (Ottawa, Canada) who was clearing her deceased husband's old tools from basement. Probably purchased it new in the 1950's but not sure. This is a bit of an unusual Henry vise which I believe has a later production date than some of the other examples shown here. The styling is a bit different, including Art Deco accent lines and a mini-anvil built in, but most notably there are no casting marks whatsoever anywhere on the vise which is atypical of Henry vises which are usually marked as Henry or Craftool or Made in Canada or London (Ontario, Canada) as well as a model number either on side or bottom casting. It was identified as a Henry Craftools "Bulldog" vise from the faint remnants of a transfer label on the right-hand side of body. Also unusual is the fact that this vise is set up with features typically found in a Quick Release vise, but not with the half nut and lever that would make that feature functional.
