Comments:
This is a 1hp, Step Pulley, Series 1 mill with a 42in table and 12in knee (Y). Serial number on the J Head- J-135430 seems to put the machine in the circa 1970 bracket. The serial # for the body is 12BR 132,437. Head and body of the machine look to me to be each other. This is the only major machine I have purchased from a machine dealer.
The knee has Tibon hard chromed ways with much (but not all) of the original scraping still present.
Looks to be the original Servo 150 power feed in X direction.
The original table had a broken-out T-slot, which appeared to be from a badly torqued T-nut. The remainder of the rear T-slot was pulled up almost .075 in places! I found a clean used table, had it ground, scraped, and flaked on the ways, and Blanchard ground and flaked on the top and sides. It is beautiful and square, but until I turcite or replace the original gib, there’s not much adjustment left in my X gib.
I also replaced the Bijur pump with a rebuilt/refurbished unit. I have since added a really nice condition Cherrying Head (Ser # T1486). I added a vise lift attachment, collet racks, and will be adding a Newall DRO DP7.
One of my favorite additions is the DeePOL Quill travel indicator.

Comments: Even if I wasn’t replacing the table, it would have still been SO important to remove the table and clean out the saddle and all the oil passages! SO glunked up with crap, and possibly grease! Ugh! This was a real mess when I opened it all up. The kne
